How to get to Ischia and to the hotel
From Naples you have a choice of either ferry or hydrofoil for the crossing to Ischia. There are three ports in Naples: Beverello, Mergellina and Porta di Massa, and three in Ischia: Ischia (Porto), Forio and Casamicciola. The hotel is in the main town in Ischia, the best destination is Ischia (Porto)).
If you are arriving in Naples at either the main train station (Stazione Centrale) or at the airport (Capodichino), it is best to use either the port of Beverello (for hydrofoils) or Porta di Massa (for ferries). Mergellina is also an option for hydrofoils but only if you are planning to stay in that area of Naples overnight or if you happen to be in that area already for any particular reason. The links between the airport and the train station are much easier to Beverello and Porta di Massa.
The ports are close to each other but not really what you would consider a reasonable walking distance. Hydrofoils are generally faster than ferries with a journey time of around 1 hour as opposed to an hour and 40 minutes on the ferry. Prices are 18.60 euros and ~13 euros per person each way respectively. There are three companies serving Ischia porto from Naples : Caremar, Alilauro and Medmar. There are transfers basically each hour, you do not need to buy your ticket in advance. Please check timetables at the links below.
(for more detailed information about transferring from Naples to Ischia click hereThere are several bus lines serving Hotel Continental Terme from the port of Ischia (the bus stop is 20 meters far from the hotel): You can use lines: CD, 5 ,6, C13, 8 and 15. If interested, please check bus line timetables
